BYU looks to have had a very good week in Las Vegas, Tuesday BYU won a shoot out with Nevada 110 to 104 and then on Wednesday in the Championship game BYU hammered Nebraska by 22 with a final score of 88-66.

Let's see. BYU is now, what...5-4 v PAC 10 over the past five seasons. Is that right? And 3-2 v PAC10 in bowl games over the past five seasons. The MWC was 6-1 v the PAC last year. Wyoming, one of the worst MWC teams, has beaten both Tennessee and VA over the past three seasons and even gave Texas all they could handle this year. CSU beat CU this year. MWC teams have made bcs bowls 3 of the last 5 years, right? I would love to really dig into the stats and go back and see how...

Good job today by the Cougars. I didn't think it was going to be a high scoring shootout like a lot of people were saying. I thought it would be low-scoring, but I'm glad only one of the teams was low-scoring, and especially glad it wasn't BYU. I'm not impressed at all with the Pac ten. It's terrible this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost most of their bowl games. BYU looked great today. Nice job.

An interesting article regarding Manti Teo. He's going to be announcing his plans for a mission (or not) this week. This might be interesting, in light of recent developments with a couple other players we've talked about. With ND changing coaches again, I wonder if he will consider transferring while he's out on his mission. That would be good for us, but would certainly hurt future players' chances of getting scholarship offers from other schools. My guess is he elects...

Remember Uona Kaveinga back in 2008's recruiting class he was 6' 1" 225 #9 ranked WLB who gave a verbal to BYU and just before signing day (seems like the night before) he switched and signed with USC. Well according to the rumor mill the grass is not always green on the other side of the fence and he has asked for and got his release from USC. It's hard to believe E Washington gave Nevada a close game. They were pathetic against BYU today. But it was great to see the bench players do so well today. I think this may be a pretty good team this year. We'll need to win most of the rest of our games if we want to get a good seeding in the tournament, but at least there isn't much of any dropoff when the bench players come into the game. I'm looking forward to our game on Tuesday vs Nevada, and then hopefully...

I was pleasantly surprised that Wyoming beat FSU today, though I honestly think FSU should have won. I thought FSU was the better team, but Wyo totally outplayed them - especially in the 4th quarter and in the OT. They had a great goal line stand in the 1st OT, stopping FSU from the 1 yard line four straight times. Great job by the Pokes. I'm not a Wyo fan, and I really can't stand their fans, honestly, but it was a good win for the conference. Now if AF can beat Houston, I...

PROVO, Utah (Dec. 17, 2009) - BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall today announced that quarterback Jake Heaps out of Skyline High School in Sammamish, Wash., and wide receiver Ross Apo out of the Oakridge School in Arlington, Texas, have signed scholarship agreements to enroll at BYU in January.

BINGO! I just read that Sen. Barton from Texas has introduced a bill that would bar the BCS from using the term "National Champion." However, the editorial predicted the bill would be scutled by eastern Senators who are trying desperately to protect the BCS. But this action, if it gets any notional exposure, could lead to private laws suits where the congress has no say. I know it's wishful thinking, but I would love to see the BCS broken up.
