I'm disappointed that the MWC eventually signed the BCS deal. I really think they should have stuck to their guns and not signed it at all. But whatever. Last night, I accidentally happened to catch a college football show on ESPN2. Normally, I don't watch ESPN at all, and it didn't take me long to remember why. Mark May, Erik Kuselias and Rod Gillmore were talking about Orrin Hatch/BCS/Utah/BYU/TCU/Boise St/etc. True to form, May said he didn't think the MWC was as good as the Big East. He also said that every now and then, a non-BCS team can "get up" against a BCS team and beat them. The idiot ignores the fact that the MWC had the best record against BCS conference teams of any conference last year, including the BCS conferences. But what can you expect from him anyway? He followed up that bit of wisdom with even more foolishness when he said BYU and Utah just need to get into the Pac Ten. What does he expect us to do? Send them our resume and ask for an interview? And what about TCU and Boise St? Will the Pac Ten take all four teams if we all ask nicely? These guys are idiots, but at least Kuselias showed some intelligence by saying the BCS should just make the MWC an automatic conference. But that doesn't seem likely.
