After taking 2 days away from the
thoughts of BYU football, I sat down and went over in my mind what I felt needed to change in BYU football. Here are the major things I think Bronco needs to
think about, if not look at changing.
Offensive line play has gone down hill the last 2 or 3 years. That says Bronco needs to think of changing O-Line coaches. To me, this is almost a must change. Last years O-Line should have been much better. Senior laden line with tons of experience should have kept Max Hall's uniform spotless even under the pressure of TCU's DE Hughes.
Quarter Back Coach has to be a concern to. Max has not gotten better during the season and has not gotten better in the off season. It is Brandon Doman's only task to make the quality QB's coming into the system better between games and seasons. I just don't see that happening. Why isn't Hall better this year that last year and what happened to the guy that beat ewetah as a sophamore and now plays no better than a true freshman.
Offensive Coordinator play calling is not improving. Robert Anae was no Offensive Coordinator when he was hired and I think he is on the verge of being fired. He is an outstanding person but I don't think he is up to the task. Four plus years and there is no sign of his being able to progress the offensive to the point that TCU and ewetah no loner being able to beat it with it's speed.
Recruiting Coordinator is not doing his job very well. There has to be more speed out there that can be inticed into coming to BYU and it is this guys majior task and I don't seeit getting done.
Bronco continues to talk about performing at a higher level and don't think that the offensive coaches are performing at a high enough level.
